What is SHINE?

SHINE effectively integrates principles of business, leadership, inspiration, and Christian living. SHINE promotes a new vision for life and work as providing significant opportunities for the reader to glorify God at work in and through them. This vision has guided Kris Den Besten to grow his business from $6 million annually to $100 million per year. More important, though, is the impact it has had on Kris’ life and the lives of others. SHINE is here to ignite real life ministry. We want to Honor God by reflecting His glory.

The SHINE vision is based on three key exhortations given by Jesus to honor God, advance His Kingdom, and reflect His glory

1 The Great Commandment
Honor God:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
— Mark 12:30 NKJV

2The Great Commission
Advance God’s Kingdom:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
—Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

3The Great Empowerment
Reflect God’s glory:

“And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age…. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
—Matthew 28:20; 5:16 NKJV

The SHINE vision is not some kind of how-to formula to make you employee of the month or salesperson of the quarter—although that could very well happen. Rather, it is a biblically-based, Christ-centered approach for transforming the objective of work from making a living to making an eternal difference. As you read this book, please note: SHINE is not something we can do on our own. We cannot shine for God in and of ourselves. Only He can shine in us.

Recent Events

We were excited to partner with First Baptist Church of Orlando and senior pastor David Uth as the SHINE principles were taught to 700 men over 10 weeks using the SHINE Participant's Guide.
